Hey friends, it’s been a while. We have been radio-silent since last September. I know, what the hell happened right? A lot, actually. Things got really busy, really challenging, and some things needed to be put down while we remembered how to live life with joy and authenticity.
We had to cut back on live sound gigs after Rhey took a step back from running sound. We are still looking at options for a new engineer and hope that we will have someone starting soon. ( we still have to actually talk to the person…lol) Matt is still busy most weekends doing shows for TDP and One Drop Redemption and is still available for bookings for live shows and recording. That never changed, but one Matt can only be so many places in a day.
Me, I dropped everything like a hot rock. Life hit me like a Mack truck last year and I needed time to recover. I took a hit both personally and professionally as I wasn’t in a head-space to do what I do well. Did I stop creating? Of course not. I took the opportunity to do a little soul searching about why I create and what it means to me. I still took on a few commissions, but mostly I wanted to reconnect with why I love art. I tried oil paints, made a UV piece for a friend for fun just to try new things, and spent the holidays making some really fun personalized gifts for family. I made my own portfolio site in an afternoon on a whim and it helped me see how diverse my skill-set really is. I took some time recently to flex my sewing and other creative muscles and have actually produced some really fun stuff. It’s ren-faire season again and we will be attending with the same crew in a few short weeks. I’d share photos now, but it wont do justice to the ridiculousness that is my full costume. I can’t put it on without assistance. But I suppose a peek at why would be fun. OK fine, here’s a lil peek at what I’ve been up to.

What I am getting at, is that we are back even though we never really left. I have lots of fun stuff planned, and I hope to actually get more of it off the ground this year since music and community are more important than ever. Thanks for stopping by. I will see you next week with actual blackhat buzz topics!
