Good afternoon folks! It’s that day again. I haven’t had much time to devote to some of the regular blackhat stuff recently. I’ve found myself rather preoccupied with goofy art since spending all that time making stores for blackhat, Lost Octopus, and designing a bunch of merch for our MaDu collection. I needed a bit of a break from all the planning and typing and Adobe-ing. As far as things in the art cave go, I feel inspired to try new things and will continue to explore new mediums and techniques.

The doodle making me think doing pet portraits might be enjoyable…
TO THE SHOW!
As for the St. Patrick’s Day show at Frogee’s last Sunday, a member of one of the bands mentioned being surprised at how small the crowd was, considering the usual festive attitude of this particular holiday. While the crowd still had good energy it thinned further as the night went on leaving the headliners with less of a crowd to play to than most of us often see. That isn’t to say it was a complete ghost town, but for what is often considered a “drinking holiday” in the USA, this felt slow. He did mention that the show went really well despite the smaller crowd and that the bands had really great energy. Loose Affiliates opened, followed by G Hippy, Humble Crumb, and Twenty Dollar Prophets. That is a solid lineup for a high-desert show, and I’m sad I missed this one.
Bianca, who was wonderful enough to provide our photos this week had this to say about the show: “Unfortunately I missed humble crumbs set but loose affiliates crushed their cover of dreams, Johnny carnage and G Hippy performed songs off of Johnny’s new album “sad truck”. Twenty dollar prophets played a couple of unreleased songs. Overall it was a great show and the corned beef and cabbage was fire.”

I actually forgot about the holiday entirely and passed the corned beef in the grocery store the previous day thinking to myself, “oooh, I’ll have to get some of that when St. Patty’s comes around.” not realizing that it was indeed the next day and by that action I would be waiting for another year. Thanks B, lol. I’m hungry now.
With that, I bid you adieu friends. Until next week….I give you…Matt…sound guy…
