Howdy!
I know, I know….I said I would be back the next week and then went ahead and skipped the blog anyway. We here at blackhat truly understand how challenging and busy life can be and how difficult mental health struggles can be to manage. I needed a few extra days to meditate on all of the many projects that I’ve been working on and push through the ones I could manage easiest last week while battling with my anxiety and wonderful ADHD. To be fair, we had nothing of note happen that week to write about anyway other than getting word of a new MaDu EP that is now in Matt’s capable hands that should be released some time this Fall.
Good news is that I pushed through and have a new merch shop to show for it (Huzzah hyperfocus). So if you were interested in getting your hands on a Pigeon Party print, or some exclusive MaDu merch check out the shop here. Lots of fun stuff available now, and a whole lot more coming very soon. I also now have an Etsy shop for original artwork and custom commissions as well. Don’t forget to give MaDu’s latest singles a listen on your favorite music streamer!
MUZAK:
On the more musical side of the business both Matt and Rhey had live sound events last weekend. Matt did sound management for One Drop Redemption at their latest show. It turned out to be in a high school gymnasium with a number of other notable reggae acts. The one thing Matt mentioned about his show was that he got to chat with The Scientist who was the one actually running the sound at the event. He’s got some work on Spotify if you haven’t heard his music before.
Rhey’s gig at Frogee’s last Saturday was, as I hear it, challenging but she learned some new things and had a decent night overall. She had this to say:
“The show on Saturday was memorable to say the least. Two of the bands (Voxxx and Luciefr ) came all the way out from Vegas to perform and it was awesome to see what kind of talent Vegas has to offer. We faced a few technical difficulties throughout the night but were able to push through to the end.”
Dangerous Doug had this to say about the show:
“The show kicked off with teen badasses Heavily Discounted, who absolutely crushed it, with some help on vocals from Johnny Carnage. Killer set… Next up, VOXXX, you’ll have to watch my FB Live on Dangerous Doug Music to really see how badass her and her band were. Luciefr and her guys played next. Again, you have to see it on the DDM page! The whole thing was AWESOME. The guys I manage, Fallen Legacies were next and kicked ass as usual, even through the guitar amp totally crapping out, still AWESOME. Last but not least BLACKSTAR Wow… brutal set. An absolutely great night with JB MUSIC Hosting and Rhey totally killin it with sound, even through technical difficulties… she handled it like a beast. Thank you guys! Great night!”
