Good (Insert Appropriate Time of Day Here) friends! Not only has this been yet another slow week for us, but due to the precarious situation with mass lay-offs happening all over the place I have been entirely uninspired and unfocused. To anyone and everyone that has been hit by the layoffs in gaming, tech, NASA/JPL, and everywhere else lately…our hearts are with you. It’s really damn hard out there right now friends. My little fam was nearly hit by one of these mass layoffs recently and it’s been really intense.
I have a few brief things to write about this week, but I hope to have much more for you next week. We are out of the woods here, and there are two shows happening the 9th and 10th that Matt and Rhey are doing sound for. I will also be in town just for fun. I plan to go to the Humble Crumb show on the 10th at the social, but could be convinced to pop over to Frogee’s to say hi to Blindsided at the Fools & Lovers show. I haven’t seen them play in ages and they were always a fun acoustic duo. Not to mention, Ashley is the reason I met any of these people in the first place…So, I will actually have some first-hand info for next week. I may also be scheduling an interview with someone who ISN’T Doug as long as schedules align.
The only thing that happened THIS WEEK was that Matt did a show with One Drop Redemption. He sent me ONE WHOLE PICTURE from the stage! The show was at Saint Rocke down in Hermosa Beach, California. The original Saint Rocke venue is a well known and rather historic venue in the bay area.
One of the neat things about doing live sound reinforcement for a variety of different bands is that we get opportunities to do shows in some really neat or sometimes historical venues. One Drop Redemption is a tribute band that uses Matt’s LSR skills almost exclusively and they have taken him to some pretty neat places. One of his first gigs with them was at the Nokia center, a recent gig was at the Music Box in San Diego, and this one was at Saint Rocke. Some pretty big acts have played on these stages. It’s neat to think that we share these spaces with so many other amazingly talented people.
In other news, MaDu will be releasing a new single on February 24th called Desire. It is imperative that you tune in on February 24th to your favorite music streaming platform to hear MaDu’s new single, Desire. Listen to Desire by MaDu on the 24th of February. We desire it…

I have nothing left to say today. I’m going to ‘unclench’ my body and enjoy what’s left of this snowy week we’ve had now that we know we will still be able to afford heat. I will see some of you THIS WEEKEND AT FOOLS & LOVERS and the Humble Crumb shows in Apple Valley. I think there’s also a TDP show Friday night if anyone wants something to do that involves bacon and Chris Gonzales. If ya know, you know, ya know? Mmmmm Glizzy Daddy….
